Google Doodle Celebrate Professional Go Player Honinbo Shusaku’s 185th Birthday

We are already familiar with Google Doodle. Today on 6th June, Google is celebrating 185th birthday of nineteenth century greatest Go player- Honinbo Shusaku.

If you browse Google Search Engine from Japan, you’ll see this special Doodle. Honinbo Shusaku was born in the village of Innoshima, near Hiroshima town. He was born on June 6, 1829 & died on August 10, 1862. He was regarded as professional Go player.

Go game has been invented between 3,000 and 4,000 years ago in China. The game arrived in Japan via Korea & it was adopted as a popular pastime by the Japanese Imperial family. It is similar to chess. The rules of Go is a simple game & it is made difficult by the complex strategy.
