In this doodle, a young boy/ girl is trying to illustrate a character. It is same as portrait of Mangal Shobhajatra, the mass procession that generally takes place at Dhaka University campus on Pohela Boishakh. Pohela Boishakh is the traditional festival in the country
During the procession, colorful masks like- tigers, owls and other creatures are found among the crowds to celebrate Pohela Boishakh. Whether at home or abroad, Bengali people warmly welcome each other & wish prosperous and Happy New Year.
Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great, who developed the Bengali calendar over 400 years ago, started observing the day in his tenure to promote keeping business accounts with the calendar.
In this traditional festival, Bengali business people close their old books and open the new ones. Generally, the nation celebrates the day with street parades, fairs, and grand concerts as a way to unify the Bengalis to welcome another year to come.
So, hope for the best.
Good Day & Good Luck!
