With great anticipation, BPL 2013 opening ceremony launched in 17th Jan,2013. There was spectacular display of dance, music, art, culture, magic & fireworks which make the inauguration exciting to all. But due to high price of ticket, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket stadium was not full house as was expected by everyone.

At that time, there were present State minister for youth and sports M Ahad Ali Sarkar, BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon & ICC vice president AHM Mustafa Kamal.
Legend Runa Laila, famous Folk singer Mamtaz & International rock Star James from Bangladesh sing marvelous songs.
Pakistani Superstar singer Atif Aslam, former Miss Sri Lanka & Miss universe Jacquilne Fernandez also participate in the opening ceremony. Atif Aslam make the audience alive & also Jacquilne Fernandez dance in Bollywood song. It’s mainly her upcoming movie Race 2 promotional dance.

The opening ceremony of BPL 2013 started with the national anthem. Then the sky was colored with fireworks. Famous singer Runa Laila entered the stage first and sang couple of hit Bangla, Hindi & urdu songs. After few min. President Zillur Rahman left the stadium compound. Then folk singer Momtaz Begum also sang popular songs.
It was followed by an acrobatic show performed by Swedish performers. We also see 7 Franchise teams traditional dance which sketched beauty of Bangladesh.
Seven franchises teams of BPL T20 (Bangladesh Premiere League) :
- Chittagong Kings
- Dhaka Gladiators
- Duronto Rajshahi
- Barisal Burners
- Sylhet Royals
- Khulna Royal Bengals
- Rangpur Riders
Then rock star James performed popular songs like ‘Ma’, ‘Bijli’ ‘Pagla Hawa’ which make the audience alive.
After then Sri Lanka-born Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez came to stage. She is known as Murder- 2 heroine. She showed a group performance. When she finished, Pakistan-born Bollywood singer Atif Aslam sang famous Hindi movie songs.

The opening ceremony lasted for about 5 hours. It is a combined performance from all the artists of 4 Cricket Nations of Asia. So it gives everyone ASIAN flavor.
The tournament will begin on 18 January, 2013 & end on Feb 16,2013. BPL 2013 cricket match will be available in Channel 9 & Channel 9 UK. Also you can watch live Streaming BPL 2013 cricket match in online.

This is really a nice and big ceremony i think everyone enjoyed their time out there and i also wish my greeting to them on their success.
Cricket is one sport I still need to learn but with festivities like this more people would be drawn to it.

BPL encourage Bangladeshi cricketer to live with cricket but the management should take this with more seriousness and stop gambling in BPL. As this appear some of the match is fixed in the spot.
